Hello, I’m Lucy, a Labrador cross Staffie cross all sorts, supposed to be 2 years’ old but my mum and dad reckon I’m only about 18 months, black and like most young ladies extremely pretty! I was at Mount Noddy about 4 weeks and was well looked after by Anna, Val and the girls. Mum and Dad came up before Christmas and saw me and took me out for 3 walks but they had to wait until January before they could take me to my new home in Fishbourne because I was in season – whatever that means!
I’m now quite settled in, have a nice garden to run about in, warm house, lovely dog beds – one up and one down, regular food but never enough. However, there are quite a few “house rules” that I have to learn, like I can’t jump on the furniture or get in the bed or even enter the bedroom or demand food and attention all the time – this all comes a bit hard for me but I’m learning.
I like meeting people and have met most of mum and dad’s friends. They all seem to like me but then I can certainly put the charm on when required. I also like other dogs and when I hear them barking I will also talk back to them – I can’t understand why Dad tells me to be quiet – or words to that effect.
We have been out in the car quite a lot recently. Dad always puts me in the boot but as soon as we get moving I clamber over onto the back seat – it’s much more comfortable. I usually get told off. I did hear them talking about taking me training shortly – wonder what that is about – training to be what I ask myself. Perhaps to become a sniffer dog at Gatwick, to be a cook at a top doggie hotel or to be a tank driver – the mind boggles. Anyway will let you know later.
I’ve been here just over 3 weeks and today we had quite a long walk and half way they let me off the lead for the first time and I just trotted around quite close to them. I think they were amazed. On the way back we called in to see uncle Arthur. I think he was pleased to see me.
I did my first collection for ‘Noddy’ at Tesco with mum and dad and auntie Joyce the previous Friday and I stood with them for about an hour. I think they were quite impressed with me. No doubt the next time I will have a lot more to tell you – how my training is progressing and what exciting things I have been up to. Well I’d better go and have a lie down and wait for my dinner.
Love Lucy
