Hi everyone! It’s me, Lucy, writing again. Since my last letter to you I’ve been spayed so I was a bit off colour for a few days but am now back to fitness. I have also been to dog training lessons. Don’t think I learned a lot. It was all ‘sit’, ‘lie down’, ‘get up’, ‘do this’, ‘do that’. In fact I got easily bored! We did this for about five weeks. Now Mum spends about half an hour most days with me in the back garden. I’ve got an obstacle course, it’s much more fun – I think she may be training me for the Grand National.
Last week – boy did I get into trouble. We went out in the car to see a friend of Mum and Dad in a nursing home and just before they went in to see him they popped into a baker’s shop and came out with a paper bag which Mum put under her passenger seat.
While they were away I climbed over the back seat and thought that the paper bag smelt rather nice – so I devoured the contents – two very nice custard doughnuts! When Mum came back she couldn’t understand why there was lots of shredded paper in the seat well. Then she twigged what had happened and believe me I was in serious trouble for the rest of the day! I got called a “tea leaf” and various other names and they threatened to return me to Mount Noddy.
I do however love my Mum and Dad and I think (know) they love me. They spoil me. We are going on holiday next week to the Cotswolds with our friends Mike and Maureen to a cottage that Mum and Dad have been to for the past eight years so I’m really looking forward to that. The cottage is way out in the countryside with lots of deer and pheasants around – sounds a bit like Goodwood to me – and with owls and badgers at night time. I’ve got about £6.00 pocket money so I will be able to treat them to a cup of coffee and perhaps Mum and Dad a custard doughnut each! I reckon that I am going to enjoy my first holiday.
Since my episode in the car Dad has put up the bars that stop me clambering over the back seat – he is a spoilsport. But there again I’ve got to learn to behave myself like all good dogs and I do want to make Mum and Dad proud of me.
Next time I write I will let you know how I got on with my holiday. Just going to pack my case now.
Lots of woofs.
Lucy
