Summer Fayre & Fun Day |
PRESS & MEDIA RELEASE |
Mount Noddy is holding its annual Summer Fayre & Fun Day on Sunday 23rd July in the Field of Dreams, adjacent to the centre from 11-00am.
Once again the emphasise is on fun for the whole family with a wide variety of entertainment from demonstrations of obedience and dog training, the Regis Troupers, musical mats, Irish dance group and that is just in the Arena alone.
There are plenty of stalls, licensed bar and refreshments, Grand draw, fire engine and tractor rides and an amusement area for the children.
Chairman of Mount Noddy and one of the organisers of this years show, Derek Speer says “this is definitely going to be the best show we have organised. We have had a series of minor misfortunes along the way but we are determined to enjoy ourselves and raise a lot of money for our charity.
Only last month a number of display signs advertising the monthly car boot sales at Mount Noddy were stolen or vandalised and I must say after all the hard work put in by the volunteers it is sole destroying. We are an independent, self financing charity trying to raise money to run an animal centre for them to be re-homed and because of a minority of today’s society we are not going to be beaten.
Destruction from a different source came when our marquee in the Field of Dreams was badly damaged by high winds in May. As we house various stalls and the refreshments in this marquee we are battling to repair it without incurring extra expense.
The committee of volunteers helping with this year’s event are even more determined to put everything into making it a huge financial success despite these set backs.”
More help is needed on the volunteer side and the bottle tombolla is in need of wine, spirits, soft drink and beer bottles. If you can help call Nicky O’Dell on 01243 790140.
