No you haven't misread the dates. The annual Summer Fayre & Fun Day at Mount Noddy Animal Centre in Eartham is, for the first time in its 38 year history, taking place over an entire weekend.
Once again the emphasis is on fun for the whole family with a wide variety of entertainment. From The Regis Troopers to the obedience demonstration by Oving dog Training group appearing in the arena to the fire engine and tractor rides and a variety of stalls thrilling the public around the Field of Dreams adjacent to the Centre.

Chairman of Mount Noddy and one of the organisers of this years event, Derek Speer says 'I have always wanted to see a two day event like this in Mount Noddy's fund raising calendar and here we are with what promises to be the best show to date.
It has not been an easy time in the organising but with the cancellation of one or two other fund raising events during this years awful weather everyone involved is determined to make this one to remember for all the right reasons!
Since last October a number of volunteers have all been working very hard to enable we get the best mixture of entertainment value for the whole family. The idea being that if the children are content with enjoying the bouncy castle or inflatable slide then the parents will be only too happy to have a drink and take in the many side stalls or be entertained by the delightful Mullangan school of dancing.
It has proved very difficult to vary the arena events so that nothing is repeated over the two days but with a little help and persuasion from the friends of Mount Noddy and local people we managed it. We have a shortage of bottles on the popular bottle stall, please send any you can spare either to the centre or give Nicky O'Dell a ring on 01243 790140.

The Saturday arena events include a very talented 'Sambatida' community Samba Group from Chichester. Following last years exciting show the entertaining Gun Dogs are Fun Dogs are back with their display of gun dog training.
Also on the Saturday there is a mini auction and the ever popular musical mats. Completing the arena entertainment for the first day is a talent competition open to everyone who wants to show off a talent they have been hiding all these years.

On Sunday the arena comes alive to the dancing of The Regis Troopers. This year I am told they have a very special surprise for everyone, so get your cameras ready and have fun. One of the highlights last year was the demonstration by Oving dog Training Group and they are back again this year with new routines and the occasional misbehaving dog!
I must not forget to mention the Grand Draw which this year has prizes including a pair of tickets to Goodwood Motor Circuit Revival Meeting and a night out for two at the Chichester Festival Theatre. Everything is set for a glorious two days in which we hope to raise many thousands of pounds to help with the running of Mount Noddy Animal Centre. The staff will be only too happy to answer any questions you might have from the reception situated on the Field of Dreams as the centre will be closed to the public over this weekend.
There is plenty of safe parking on the field with an overflow car park available. Make a date of 28th and 29th July in your diary and come along for the two days of Summer Fayre and Fun at Mount Noddy Animal Centre. See you there.

Derek Speer
