Father Christmas arrived with two of his reindeer, Blitzen and Starr, on time at 1-00pm despite the heavy showers and storm force winds that swept across our region during the morning.

The sun shone and, although the earlier forecast had put a number of people off. the supporters of Mount Noddy Animal Centre in Eartham and their families enjoyed themselves.

The mulled wine took the chill off the cold wind and everyone was happy to join in with the Christmas spirit from the seasonal raffle. mince pies and bottle tombolla to the many who joined to become members of the 'Friends of Mount Noddy' which helps in bringing more financial support to our self supporting charity.

The children were given sweets and presents for their pets from Father Christmas, after asking permission from their parents of course, before having their photograph taken along with his reindeers.
All the raffle prizes, gifts, bottles for the bottle stall and even the sweets from Father Christmas were all kindly donated.

I would like to add that the centre and reception is now open for business although to adopt an animal an appointment system is currently on a trial period. This has been a practice carried out by a number of animal homes across the country and saves the animals from being put under undue stress from people just walking around without any intention of adopting an animal.

On behalf of Mount Noddy its staff, committee and all the animals I would like to wish all our supporters, volunteers and friends a very happy Christmas and a healthy new year.

Branch Chairman
